Postdoctoral Fellow Positions

TIFR-CAM is the Centre for Applicable Mathematics, Bangalore and is part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, which is a premier research institute funded by the Govt. of India. TIFR-CAM invites applications for postdoctoral positions from strong candidates in all areas of mathematics, including but not restricted to, analysis and geometry, probability, differential equations, numerical methods and scientific computing, and ergodic theory.
All postdoctoral fellows are expected to be actively involved in research/academic discussions with CAM faculty. They are also expected to give seminars and perform teaching assistant work (for integrated Ph.D courses) one semester per year.
PhD candidates who have submitted their thesis can apply for postdoctoral positions funded by TIFR-CAM. The position will be offered only after successful completion of your defense and production of atleast a provisional certificate from your institute. Postdoctoral positions are offered for a period of one year with possibility of extension for another year based on performance in the first year, and availability of positions. Candidates with external sources of funding (such as NPDF, NBHM, and Airbus fellowships) can be hosted in TIFR-CAM after undergoing the same selection procedure as other applicants.

- A complete and up-to-date CV
- PhD thesis synopsis
- Research statement
- List of TIFR-CAM faculty with whom you would like to collaborate
- A list of referees (at least two, including your thesis advisor)
- PDF of papers/preprints, thesis, etc.
All postdoctoral fellows receive salary, house rent allowance, contingency and medical coverage according to institute rules.
