Postdoctoral Fellow Positions
Application deadline: September 30, 2024
TIFR-CAM is the Centre for Applicable Mathematics, Bangalore and is part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, which is a premier research institute funded by the Govt. of India. TIFR-CAM invites applications for postdoctoral positions from strong candidates in all areas of mathematics, including but not restricted to, analysis and geometry, probability, differential equations, numerical methods and scientific computing, and ergodic theory.
All postdoctoral fellows are expected to be actively involved in research/academic discussions with CAM faculty. They are also expected to give seminars and perform teaching assistant work (for Integrated Ph.D courses) one semester per year.
Only PhD candidates who have submitted their thesis can apply for postdoctoral positions funded by TIFR-CAM. While we cannot offer postdoc fellowships until they complete their defence and the provisional certificate is available, we can offer a temporary 6 month long research associate position. In general the postdoctoral positions will be offered for a period of three years contingent on satisfactory performance which will be reviewed yearly. Candidates with external sources of funding (such as NPDF, NBHM, and Airbus fellowships) can be hosted in TIFR-CAM after undergoing the same selection procedure as other applicants.
Applicants should submit
1) A letter of intent
2) A complete and up-to-date CV
3) PhD thesis synopsis
