Integrated PhD Programme

TIFR Centre for Applicable Mathematics admits outstanding Bachelor's students to the Integrated PhD Programme in Mathematics.


Eligibility

Students holding a Bachelor's Degree with Mathematics as one of the main subjects or Engineering graduates with a strong aptitude for Mathematics are eligible to apply. Students who are in the final year of graduation may also apply.

 

Admission Procedure

Candidates wishing to enrol in the Integrated PhD programme at TIFR-CAM have to appear for the TIFR-GS written test in Mathematics at one of the several nationwide centres. Those who qualify the written test will be called for further evaluation and screening at TIFR-CAM.

 

Fellowship

Students are provided a monthly scholarship and an annual contingency grant for six years. In the first year, the monthly scholarship is ₹21,000 and the annual contingency grant is ₹25,000. The scholarship is enhanced to ₹31,000 per month and the annual contingency grant to ₹40,000 subject to satisfactory performance in the first year. Research Scholars, on successful registration for a PhD, will be entitled for a monthly scholarship of ₹35,000 and an annual contingency grant of ₹40,000 until the end of their sixth year.
