Abstract: A lemniscate in the plane is a sub level set of the modulus of a complex polynomial. In this talk I will discuss the shapes of random lemniscates, when the roots are sampled independently from a fixed distribution. Based on joint work with Manjunath Krishnapur and Erik Lundberg.
