Abstract: In this lecture I shall attempt to prove some results for the 3D incompressible Euler and Navier-Stokes equations on the blackboard. In the first part I shall make a formal sketch-proof of the Beale-Kato-Majda theorem for the 3D Euler equations. Then I shall formally derive some results for the 3D Navier-Stokes equations, for example the boundedness of a hierarchy of time averaged quantities first derived by Foias, Guillope and Temam (1981) and also some other bounded averages. I shall also point try to out where our lack of knowledge lies to achieve full regularity.
