COLLOQUIUM TALK

Title: Optimal Regularity for the Variable Coefficients Parabolic Signorini Problem

Abstract: In this talk, we will discuss the optimal regularity of the (variable coefficient) parabolic Signorini problem with coefficients in Sobolev spaces. Our proof relies on a parabolic Carleman estimate and an epiperimetric inequality. We will also discuss the regularity of the regular free boundary. This talk is based on a joint work with Wenhui Shi.

Speaker Bio: Vedansh Arya has been a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of  Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Jyväskylä, Jyväskylä,  Finland, since 2022. He completed his Ph.D. in Mathematics at the TIFR  Centre for Applicable Mathematics, Bangalore, in 2022. His  research interests include regularity theory for elliptic and parabolic  PDEs, unique continuation problems, free boundary problems, and mean  curvature flow.
