Abstract: In this talk, we will see well posedness, regularity and decay of solutions of strictly hyperbolic Cauchy problems of second order with non-Lipschitz coefficients. The main focus is on the effect of oscillatory behavior of coefficients and the associated loss of derivatives of the solutions valued in a Sobolev space. At the end of the talk, I will briefly discuss my current work in second order SG-Hyperbolic operators for which case we also found loss of decay of solutions valued in a weighted Sobolev spaces.
