Abstract : We will talk about the gradient estimates for elliptic equations from composite materials. If the coefficients are merely measurable in two variables then the gradient of the weak solution might not have a good regularity. However, if the coefficients are allowed to be merely measurable in only one variable then one can obtain gradient estimates such as Lipschitz regularity. This problem is related to the laminated structures and we will discuss some applications to composite materials.
