Abstract: In this talk, we summarise the work presented in the thesis. With a focus on compressible flows, the objective of the doctoral research work is twofold – i) the construction of high-order entropy stable finite difference schemes on uniform Cartesian grids, and ii) the construction of (formally) second-order entropy stable finite volume schemes on unstructured triangular grids. Additionally, we show that an appropriate choice of numerical fluxes ensures the consistent evolution of total kinetic energy at the discrete level.
