Abstract:  In this talk, we present an overview of the application of Bloch wave Method in homogenizing problems with periodic microstructures. One of the aims of the talk is to highlight the advantages of the method over others. Another aim is to report on some recent progress in the application of the method to deal with constrained systems, dispersion approximation and phase transition in periodic media.
