Abstract
In this talk, I will briefly discuss some physical inconsistencies of the standard compressible Navier-Stokes equations and outline the derivation of a novel compressible flow model.
The new model has a more tractable mathematical structure and I will outline a proof that a finite-volume scheme converges to a weak solution. Quite remarkably, this can be done without any a priori stability assumptions and with "large" initial data.
